Contract Parenting Assessment Therapist – Fully Remote (Kentucky, United States) | Flexible Caseload


Job Description

Safe Touch Family Counseling is seeking a Licensed Clinical Therapist Licensed Clinical Contract Therapist (1099) to conduct parenting assessments and provide professional recommendations that support safe, stable, and nurturing family environments.


In this specialized role, you will work with families referred through community agencies, courts, and partner organizations to evaluate parenting dynamics, identify strengths and areas for growth, and provide guidance that supports healthier parent-child relationships.


This position is ideal for clinicians who enjoy assessment work, professional writing, and collaborating with multidisciplinary partners while helping families navigate complex life challenges.


Position Responsibilities


  • Conduct comprehensive parenting assessments for families referred by community partners, child welfare agencies, or legal systems.
  • Evaluate parenting strengths, family dynamics, and areas requiring intervention or support.
  • Develop clear, objective, and detailed assessment reports with professional recommendations.
  • Provide trauma-informed insight and evidence-based strategies to support safe parenting practices.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, social workers, case managers, and court personnel as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Participate in consultation or case discussions when needed.
  • Stay current with best practices and evolving standards in parenting assessments and family evaluations.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of professional clinical experience working with children and families.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Active Kentucky license in good standing (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and professional writing skills for formal reporting.
  • Experience conducting parenting assessments or working with high-risk or complex family systems.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based trauma-informed interventions (e.g., Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, family systems approaches).
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism when working within legal or court-involved situations.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working in child welfare, family court, custody, or legal settings.
  • Familiarity with parenting assessment tools and structured evaluation frameworks.
  • Training in therapeutic modalities such as play therapy, family therapy, or attachment-focused approaches.
  • Experience providing expert recommendations within court or agency contexts.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
